Hi,

Hotfixes are numbers in format <CMS major version.CMS minor version.Hotfix number> for example 5.0.1, 5.0.1, 5.0.2… Hotfixes numbers are not displayed in the CMS Manager or on the logon screen, this is the version including build number. More information about differences between upgrade procedure and applying hotfix can be found at http://devnet.kentico.com/Blogs/Juraj-Ondrus/September-2009/How-to-use-hotfix-package-and-how-to-convert-our-C.aspx. Hotfix number as well as build number can be found in Juraj Ondrus’s Blogs (http://devnet.kentico.com/Blogs/Juraj-Ondrus.aspx), where descriptions of released hotfixes are regularly postponed.

Member	shannon.dunn-bridgespan - 6/29/2010 8:06:45 AM RE:Determine Version It would be great to easily find the build number. I want to ensure that when I do a hotfix that the "fix" took effect. I cannot anywhere on the Bugtracker page where it lists build, only Hotfix package.

Hi,

There is one way how to find out the version. All you need to do is to navigate to the BIN folder of your web project, right click on any of the DLL files with “CMS” prefix, select Properties and then Version tab, as it is mentioned in this article (http://devnet.kentico.com/Blogs/Juraj-Ondrus/January-2010/How-to-solve-your-issue-more-quickly-and-upgrade-v.aspx). Build number on the logon page is changed automatically after applying hotfix and it is indication that hotfix took effect. My colleague Juraj Ondrus postpone description of new released hotfix with its number as well as with build number once a week at http://devnet.kentico.com/Blogs/Juraj-Ondrus.aspx.
