Site Import
Issue: When I import a site created on our development server to our production server the other sites on our production server become corrupt. What seems to be happening is that after the new site is created via an import, all the images that were uploaded into Kentico on the problem sites appear to be corrupt.

Here are the steps I’ve taken:

On the development server (Kentico 5.5.3834)

1. Created a new site.
2. Created a new style sheet and assigned it to the new site.
3. Created new page templates for each page in the site (12 new page templates).
4. Created new transitions for each web part being used (26 new transitions).
5. Via the Site Manager I exported the site using all the default options.

On the production server (Kentico 5.5.3834)

1. Via the Site Manager I select ‘Import site or objects’ on the ‘Sites’ tab.
2. I select the appropriate import that I had uploaded to /CMSSiteUtils/Import.
3. I create a new site via this import.
4. I use all the default options during the import.

Please advise if this is the proper procedure for creating a site on our development server and implementing it on our production. Also please advise why this method would effect other sites on our production server.

Thank you.

RE:Site Import
Hello.

It is possible that some object(s) has been over-written during import procedure, for example your stylesheet file. I would recommend you to make sure, that you do not rewrite any existing object during import process. Objects already existing are marked by star sign (*). If this will not solve your issue, could you please send that export package to support@kentico.com and refer to this forum post? We will have a look on this. Thank you.
