RSS Reader from external website

Anyone know where you can get something similar to the above for 3.1?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi,

Have you tried to use above webpart with 3.0x version? If yes, what kind of error have you received? You can also try to use External RSS from this thread.

Best regards,

Hi

It just said that it was uncompatible with my version and I need to upgrade.

I saw that thread too, but have no .Net experience so am at the mercy of my development team - all of which have no time to create this webpart for me.

Thanks though.

RE:RSS Reader from external website
Hi,

you can use files from external RSS webpart (for 5.x version - ExternalRSSFeed.ascx and ExternalRSSFeed.ascx.cs). Then you can create a new webpart according to this tutorial. This way you do not need to develop the webpart on your own, only registration is needed.

Hi Ivana

Thanks for your help.

Will this work with 3.1?

Hi,

It should work - in the code in not used any function that was not implemented in the 3.1 version. Please do not forget to create appropriate properties in webpart definition (it is described in above tutorial).
