Import/Export to Excel of UI culture content
Hi there

In a workprocess it could be very helpful to have a feature that allows exporting the table of required strings for a language.

Let's say you enter many strings for the first language during development. Then you need translation for these strings. If an Excel Export would exist, you could simply send the document to thetranslator.

Once you get the file back, an Excel import could be even more fancy and time saving.

Thanks for considering

Actually, I find editing these strings a bit painful.
After each translation, I have to click on "String" again and then find the page where I was and select a new term to translate.

If the application could at least remember the page or maybe offer a next/previous button to go quickly through these words...

Thanks
ralph

Hi again,
Thank you for a very nice suggestion.

We will consider it and I hope that it will be available in some feature versions. Right now you can use the strings also in resx files in XML format.

Hi,

What exactly you mean by all types of strings? Could you be more specific, please?

Best regards,

RE:Import/Export to Excel of UI culture content
Hi all, some question on this topic:
1)How resx files are l related with "CMS_ResourceString,CMS_ResourceTranslation, CMS_UICulture"?
2) Wich name must have regx file in order to overide or modify the table above?

thanks in advance.

RE:Import/Export to Excel of UI culture content
Hi,

1) CMS_UICulture - is list of cultures you added to the UI cultures section. The other tables just hold the strings and translations added to the UI Cultures section in Development. Please see this documentation and at the bottom you can find a frame which explains the priority of resolving the resource strings - http://devnet.kentico.com/docs/devguide/configuring_multilingual_ui.htm

2) You need to use the same key for your custom string as it is in the physical resx file. As you can see from above, the strings from DB have higher priority.
