Content Staging
Does anyone know if the Content Staging module can be scheduled to run regularly as a system task? I have a client that would like to run with staging and production servers whereby the prod environment is kept up to date automatically.

Regards

RE:Content Staging
Hi Mark,

Is Content Staging not working properly for you? It runs as a Windows Service that automatically updates data on target server. Therefore there is no need to set it up as a system task.

However, there might be one issue if it is not automatically synchronizing data - when there are not permissions set right.

RE:Content Staging
thanks for the prompt reply!

I have content staging installed and can synchronise documents by using CMSDesk > Tools > Content Staging and selecting what I'd like to stage.

When I change content in the source website however, it isn't updated until I manually stage the item. What I really need for this client is three ways of initiating content staging tasks:

1. Manually, for ad-hoc staging. this I can do ok

2. Automatic, so that changes made on the test server are pushed to the staging server once they've been through workflow.

3. Regular, three times daily for getting approved, published content from staging into production.

I haven't been able to find any way of getting 2 & 3 to work.. is it possible?

thanks again
Mark

Hi Mark,

I'm sorry for misleading information. You need to set up StagingWorker in Site Manager -> Administration -> Scheduled tasks to be run regularly.

RE:Content Staging
Thanks again.

Yes, I had thought it necessary to set up the scheduling in the Scheduled Tasks area.

Trouble is, I can't find any documentation on how to do this, and my experimentation so far with using CMS.Staging.StagingHelper hasn't been successful.

Has anyone set this up before - or can give some advice on how to configure the scheduled tasks?

Thanks
Mark

RE:Content Staging
Hi Mark,

Documentation about setting content staging as Scheduled task hasn't been added yet, however it shouldn't be difficult.

As I've mentioned before you should be working with "StagingWorker" which is located in "CMS.Staging". Could you please try to add this task like other tasks are already added?

Best regards,
