Administrator Login for IIS 5 Windows XP

The admin login does not work with IIS 5 Windows XP web server. It will work with VS web server. I tried the install with Windows 2003 and IIS 6 and the localhost admin login worked fine. How do you configure IIS 5 Windows XP web server to work with Kentico? All permissions are set-up correctly and eveything works within VS. When I use http://localhost/KenticoCMS/CMSPages/logon.aspx?ReturnUrl=~/cmsdesk/default.aspx&username=administrator the application will not login using administrator. It will reject bad logins but fails to display the site desk for good logins.

In IIS it worked maybe because of cookies. I have made some search and I did not found any such configuration for IIS 5.1 and 6 as you described.

Hi,
do you have on your system installed the IIS (Internet Information Services) with some website? If not, please visit the Microsoft sites and try to find how to install and configure the IIS.

Also, please, see our website at http://www.kentico.com/Download/System-Requirements.aspx to see the necessary programs that have to be installed before installing Kentico CMS.

If you already have IIS and some website, please make sure that this site is running and/or try to restart the IIS service (Start menu -> Run -> type iisreset and hit enter). If the problem remains, please contact our support at support@kentico.com
