Mapping AD fields to Kentico - Automatic user creation

Is there anyway to configure how new users are auto created when using Windows Authentication. By that I mean, the mapping of their Full Name, First name & Surname etc to the relevant fields in Kentico.

Doing this with the AD Import utility is a breeze as it gives you the options to map the fields. However, when relying on new users to be automatically created when they land on the site it sets their Full name to the same as their username and doesn't set the First or Surname at all.

Can these field mappings be defined anywhere ?

Hi,

The basic import does not have settings for this. That's why the AD import toolkit is available - you can also schedule e.g. a Windows scheduled job to import the users periodically and also overwrite existing - so if a new user enters the site before the import, so the import will update the data.

I see yet another custom code exercise on the horizon. Where abouts in the Kentico code is the basic import triggered? Is it customizable ?

How unfortunate.

Are there any plans on implementing a configuration feature for this? I suppose the code is already written in some respect in the form of the AD Import Utility. How difficult could that be to port into the web app.

Would be highly useful if you could just have a config file which maps your AD fields to a relevant Kentico fields thus giving you to the ability to create a more useful user record. Alternatively there should be at least the ability to turn off auto user creation entirely.
