Smart Search on Free Version

I was using Smart Search while using Trial Version and everything was working pretty smooth. Now when I switched onto Free Version, when I try to create a new index from Smart Search option on Administration page, the page just loads and loads and nothing comes up. Is this a restriction for the free version that the smart search does not operates properly or it does not operate at all ?

Hello.

You can see license limitations for particular license editions in this feature matrix.

Regarding your problem, could you please navigate to the Site Manager / Administration / Event log and see any error (red lines) there? Whether you encountered some license limitation or other problem, there should be a log about it providing more details. Thank you.
