Seems to be no way around it. They should not be listed as a hosting partner on the Kentico site. You have been warned.

Hi,

Well, this depends on many other factors - like the traffic on the page (you told us that you have a small traffic), then on the number of documents, what modules you are using and what operations are made in the CMS.

200MB of memory is enough for example for personal sites or small company sites, but not for large sites with hundreds of documents, etc. Also, during the web installer you can select which modules to install and which not - this is also made for this reason to decrease the memory usage. Also, it depends on the hosting plan you have - you can still have dedicated server on DiscountASP and it will work fine.

How does the number of documents increase the memory being used unless they are being served? They do have many over sized pictures. Would this cause this issue? Thanks Rod

If you will be able to get us the memory dump, it can help us to see what is going on and why is your application restarted. However, in the past few weeks you were not the only one who complained on DiscountASP. Even if we try to make Kentico to consume less memory, it seems that there was something changed on this hosting provider. So, we contacted them few days ago and we are now waiting for their response. I hope that we will be able to sort this out with them and our and their customers will be satisfied.

Hi Juraj,

Have you heard back from DiscountASP regarding this issue?

I'm having the same problem. The Kentico site we launched on their service is constantly recycling the app pool and kicking out our users.

They suggested we try switching to SQL server sessions, which we've now done, but this hasn't solved the problem.

Please let me know. The folks at DiscountASP are refusing to help and I have a very frustrated client... not a good combination :(

Hi,

I understand. However, we have not heard back from them, never. It seems that they won't create a memory dump for you - so we can see what is the reason of this behavior. The only thing I can suggest right now is to find another hosting provider - e.g. GoDaddy, or Applied Innovations - we ave good experience with them.
