Top 10 Kentico Websites for March 2013

   —
Various Kentico projects from four continents were chosen as Top10 websites for March. A world-known sewing machines manufacturer, the first US Zoo, a couple of highly integrated e-commerce sites, and leaders in healthcare and science—these all are represented in the list of the best Kentico projects of the month.
BERNINA International AG is a leading global manufacturer of sewing and embroidery machines. The reconstruction and the redesign of the entire website had the objective of consolidating all machine info, making it more appealing to younger generations. The result is a modern, playful and detail-oriented website with an attractive product showroom for every single machine (360° views, videos, images, sewing examples, etc.). To simplify the rollout to more than 40 countries and 29 languages, Bernina relies on Kentico’s EMS translation service and has developed a custom page copying function to simplify the deployment.

The Philadelphia Zoo website (America’s First Zoo) was redesigned by Weblications using V7 of the Kentico CMS platform. Of particular interest is the Interactive Trip Planner which allows a visitor to map out specific animals, attractions, restaurants and other areas they wish to visit. The plan can then be loaded on to the Mobile version of the Website or an iPhone App and carried with them while they are physically at the zoo. There is also real-time information provided to visitors about the status of parking lots and attractions that they can access before entering the Zoo. The site is very visual, using lots of animal- and zoo-related imagery, and is very intuitive to navigate. Use of Kentico web parts and customized file types made designing and maintaining the website very easy and efficient.

The new Nutrimetics Kentico website has been a very large and rewarding project. It has been over a year in the making, with cutting edge drag and drop technology that allows users to integrate physical skin testing strips and then compare them to a clever screen tool giving them a solution to their skin condition. The site seamlessly integrates into the Nutrimetics ERP system and consultant database allowing a fully integrated online shopping experience. By working closely with Kentico and Nutrimetics, Web Design Magic was able to create one of the most advanced online stores they have ever created. NetConstruct were asked to redevelop the Alno Kitchens website to make it more reflective of the brand and increase awareness in the UK, as well as to showcase the quality and breadth of the kitchens on offer and to inspire customers. They achieved this through a clean, simple design with use of striking imagery as the focal point throughout the site.  Also key was the simplification of the user journey –informing and inspiring users, then encouraging them to visit a showroom in their area. Key features include the use of expandable panels with key information (so the content doesn’t detract from the impact of the imagery), the “Find Your Nearest Showroom” feature, the inspiration page and the customer gallery.
